          3.  Dogs Protect You

Dogs are the best bodyguards. I don’t know if you ever saw a dog owner under attack – for real or as a joke. It will take out the worst in him. Don’t get fooled by their cute looks, when they have to, they can look like devils.

This is why having a dog can truly be a life-saver. No one who threatens you in any way will stand a chance unarmed. There are cases when even burglars with arms give up if they hear a dog barking like crazy. They will probably find it easier to pick another victim than to endanger their lives.

          4.  Dogs Get Food

Yep, you can teach him that too. Actually, it’s one of the most vital things he can learn. If your dog knows how to hunt – and trust me, it’s easier than it sounds – then if your food stockpile goes bad or you don’t have enough of it, your pet can save you from starving. If you live close to a wood, you’re lucky – but if not, just take your dog for a drive to the nearest green area and let him hunt.

Don’t wait until the crisis strike to do that though; go out with your dog for him to practice hunting every chance you get. It can be fun, thrilling – and darn useful! Dogs have the instincts for it. Also – practice makes perfect!

          5. Dogs Make Great Company

You might be alone when crisis strikes. It’s good in a way – you don’t have the responsibility of the others – but what if you trip and fall? What if you panic? There are plenty of bad things that can happen and there’s no one there to help you or talk to you. That can be very dangerous and can really bring you down.

But when you have a dog with you, things are not that bad. Even if he can’t speak, every owner shares a connection with his dog. And just the feeling that you are in this together will be a morale booster and will give a warm feeling of hope. Believe it or not, you can take care of each other in this type of situations.
