Here we are again with a few more important uses for baking soda that will help make your bug out bag much more lighter.

         1. Rehydration

Prepare a mixture with water, a pinch of sugar, baking soda and salt and drink it to prevent dehydration. Dehydration can be very unpleasant as it may cause muscle weakness, sleepiness and stress. In emergency situations, it is crucial to be properly hydrated in order to cope with the whole thing.

       2. Make your own toothpaste

There is no need to stock on toothpaste anymore, as you can make your own. The advantage is that it will no longer contain artificial substances, it will be completely natural.

Mix 2/3 cup baking soda, 1-2 tsp peppermint extract and 1 tsp of fine sea salt (it’s OK to leave that out if you don’t have it) and water. It will have a minty flavor and be even more efficient than the tooth paste you find at the store.

          3. Stop a fire

Knowing how to put on a fire is an essential skill for a survivalist. It will be very helpful in any type of emergency situation.  But how about how to put it off? I’ll make life easier for you: just throw some baking soda powder in the flame, at the base. This trick will help you save some time.

          4. Destroy  fungus and yeast

In order to cure fungal or yeast infections you can simply add baking soda powder on the affected area. This will be very helpful in emergency situations because this type of infections are very easy to get in foreign environments. Stress and exhaustion also contribute a lot, by making your immunity weaker.

          5. Septic care

Baking soda is a very good cleanser, so if you ever have emergencies with drains and pipes, feel free to use it as a cleanser; it will get rid of all the bacteria.

         6. Maintain hygiene

Hygiene is essential for your health and comfort. You can use baking soda as a soap to clean your hands, your dishes, pots, combs and  brushes, tools and gear. It works for everything and it’s very efficient.
