I was talking briefly before about the benefits of tea. It’s time that I expand on that, since it’s a much more important topic than you might think. If you are out of bottled water or your filter breaks, you usually boil the tap water. But we both know that tastes awful. Not if you make tea with it it doesn’t! More importantly than taste however, tea is a wonderful cure for a lot of common affections such as indigestion, but also for more serious things, like pulmonary disease.

tea

I will present you a list with 8 essential teas your need to have in a crisis:

 Black tea

If you’re a coffee addict like I am, you know that it’s not easy to replace it. One of the few things that does it for me is black tea. The caffeine content is just rich enough to get you moving for a few good hours. The main advantage though is that it’s much healthier, up to a point. Don’t expect to be fine if you drink 10 cups per day; it will make your heart rate go through the roof.

Echinacea

The best thing about echinacea is that it strengthens your immunity. This is extremely important in times of crisis, when you’re more vulnerable to diseases. Other than that, it can act as an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant agent.

Peppermint

People often deal with indigestion and stomach burns because of what they’re eating. Well, expect to have this problem even more in emergencies. Antacids work just fine, but up to a limit, The best alternative is an infusion with peppermint leaves that will calm your stomach and ease the digestion. If your problem is more serious and you have ulcer or daily stomach aches, take 2 cups of peppermint tea per day. Increase the dose with one cup if it gets more serious; keep it up for 3 days. By then, you should be cured. However, you can also drink it for prevention.

Chamomile

Chamomile is very good if you have trouble sleeping. It relaxes you and eliminates stress so you can rest properly. This is extremely important in order to be able to deal with extreme situations. You have to do your best to make sure you’re well prepared not only in terms of things, but also mentally and physically. Another less known benefit of chamomile is its antiseptic role. If you get bruised or you have some superficial wounds, moist a piece of cloth in tea and wash the affected area. It will destroy the germs and you will be better in no time.
